Exporting and Importing Entire Product Context
Has anyone done this? We are looking for strategies on moving the entire contents of a Product from one server to another. I assume this is done via import/export manager but can this be done? Am I just moving content? What about change objects? I would like to start some users on a temp server while we work on production and then move their stuff over.

How to check during the creation of change task if the CT name equals a document name
Hey Guys,
i have a little question regarding the change task creation. I want to check at the creation of a change task, if the name of the CT equals a document name (e.g. check with a small function if it equals). Because the name of the task should be the same as the document, otherwise there should be no possibility to create the CT. I would guess it can be done through the OIR like the auto numbering? But how do i implement it there?

Change Document Soft Type
So I have a document soft type that I put in for our test reports. I was wondering if there was any way to change it so that it acts like a Reference Document. The reason why is that we want to connect it to some wtParts as reference type documents and it will only allow us to do Describe By Document. This document will not change when the wtPart changes and that is why we want it to be a reference document. Does anyone know if I can do what I want?

How to define workflow participant from document attribute
Anybody have any insight as to how to define a Workflow Activity Participant from a WTDocument soft-type attribute?
i.e. if the WTDocument creator enters in the full name or username of a user into the attribute field, then a subsequent workflow activity will assign the task to the designated user.
We have WTDocument sub-type that kicks off a workflow, but we currently have to use a 'Edit and Submit' task so that the initiator can designate a different user for a particular role later in the workflow (Setup Participants from a Resource Pool). There is a request to eliminate that initial task and jump straight into the main body of the process.

Is there a way to have Baseline collector initially populate using the As Stored configuration?
When the collector runs for a baseline against an EPMDocument I have to select the configuration As Stored after the initial population. I was looking for a preference to set so that the initial run for the baseline is for As Stored, but do not see such a preference. This is on Windchill PDMLink 9.1.

Which Rehosting Method?
It has been a while since I had to rehost my production machine to a test server, but I recently upgraded to 10.2 and would like my test server to reflect the 10.2 production server so that I have a fresh start. I would like to use the Rehost 2.0 tool to help me since I do not want to go through a manual rehost. I do have Solr turned on, some customization and connect to our corporate LDAP. I have an app server and a database server in production and am moving to the same on two virtual servers. Which method would be better and why?
- Copy all the files to the new machines, import the database and use Rename
- Use Rehost with a staging area
- Use Clone with a staging area

change workspace from one context to another is not working
In Arbortext Editor 6.1 M060 (new patch) I do not get a "change workspace" prompt when changing from one context to another. Our process is this...locate the object in Windchill (10.1) and open in AE. AE 6.1 is launched and the user is asked to log in to Windchill and choose a workspace. This is fine initially, however, if the user then decides to check out an object from a completely different context (using the same process above) the user is not prompted to choose a new workspace. The object is dumped into the workspace from the previous context. I inserted the parameter, below, in the userprefs file.
PromptForWorkspaceChange yes It helped in the previous version of AE but doesn't seem to make a difference with 6.1 M060. Perhaps I'm missing something...Does AE 6.1 and Windchill 10.1 not require different workspaces for different contexts?

Copy objects from PDMLink and Paste into ProjectLink
I want to explore change solutions in ProjectLink for the increased collaboration tools as part of our change process. However, I've not found a viable solution for copying the PDMLink objects into a Project for editing. The copy/paste option creates shared objects where all updates are shown in PDMLink. Save As and Move functions do not allow the objects to be transferred to ProjectLink. Is there a method for creating a copy of PDMLink objects in ProjectLink for editing? Is there another method for developing proposed solutions to changes before revising the objects as part of the ECN process?

Is it possible to configure a dedicated method server in WC 9.1 for certain operations ?
say for example, you you have a WC server with 1 background MS and 3 foreground MS and you need one of those method servers to just handle requests or actions that are come from within Creo/Pro-E. Since the CAD actions have the "epm" text in the url, it is possible to direct all such request to the dedicated MS while the remaining 2 method servers can handle any other non-cad operations/actions.
