How do you select multiple Change types in the Change Notice tab to display a customized view, filtering out states?
I tried to select multiple Object Types for Change Notice types, using the filter criteria, State Not Equal to Canceled and State Not Equal to Resolved and this does not work. It still diplays everything?

Hi,
I have installed RFS successfully but it is throwing when loads the page. The PTC page appears and immediately display the message as below.

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
"
We have copied the old ASM and created new one but before releasing it, The structure of old ASM got updated and released by some other user so we need those structure changes should reflect in our new group also, please let us know if any provision availble in windchill.
e.g We have created the asm "B" by copying "A", but before releasing "B" the Asm "A" got updated and released by some other user so whatever changes happen in "A" we want it should reflect in "B" automatically, please help.

Actually there is this requirement for the migrated data that user should be able to interchange the associations (owner to image or image to owner whenever they want) with the help of 'Editassociation' option in workspace, now people are trying to integerate the 'Editassociation' to the actions menu in commonspace since they are opting outWGM. Is this feasible, is it a correct approach for a production industry, if then how to do it?
any sugesstions are welcome

Hi, after a hard drive crash I managed to save my workspace data (.wf folder). It replaced the hard drive and copied across all data including the .wf folder. I then reinstalled creo2 on the fresh hard drive but now don't know how to access the old workspace. Any help much appreciated.

My company recently upgraded to Windchill 10.0 from Windchill 9.1
Previous, we are able to quickly bring up a document if we knew it's number by doing opening the following URL:
http://yyyyy.com/Windchill/netmarkets/jsp/cochlear/DocByBasisRef.jsp?basisref=123456
The "BasisRef" variable was a customisation, so they documents could retain their legacy database reference.
Is there a way something similar can be done in Windchill 10.0?
I know that each document gets a unique ID, which appears after the WTDocument%3A tag, but I only have the actual number.

Our organization is new to Windchill, and we're going through the growing pains of learning how to use it. We are currently using Windchill 10.1 M030 in concert with Solidworks 2013. The issue is that I have 2 independent parts checked into a product that should have been checked in as 2 instances of a generic. I know how to add instances of a generic now, but I goofed originally and don't know how to fix it and avoid uniqueness issues.
Is there a way to correct this issue so that:
1. The Number, Name and Org ID attributes for the 2 independent parts are carried over exactly to the 2 instances.
2. I don't have to delete every instance of a parent assembly where one of the 2 CAD docs was used.
Any help would be appreciated.

I enjoy working in Creo and Windchill. If you've read PTC Community for any length of time you'd quickly come to the conclusion that they are among my favorite engineering tools. However, I'm also the first one to admit there are still some gaps in functionality, some very strange logic to the interfaces, and more than a little room for improvement.
While I don't necessarily want to start a 'gripe' thread, I've been using Windchill 10.1 long enough to notice several areas that need some attention- "pain points". We're moving to 10.2 soon and perhaps that will provide some relief. I'm only casually aware of the improvements to 10.2 so I apologize in advance if I'm mentioning items that have already been addressed. In the past, having a thread where people add their annoyances and vent their frustrations has been beneficial. I'm sure it's tough for the Windchill developers to read because people can be rather harsh in their criticisms.
I'd like to start out with some of my pain points. I'd like others to jump in and add their own, too. I'll use any feedback gathered here to start building a list of enhancements for Windchill that can be delivered to the Windchill Technical Committee for review and submission to PTC.

I have several roles using Windchill and Creo- one of them is "Windchill Business Administrator". In this role, I need to add/remove users from a product team, add folders, move objects, and generally poke around in a myriad of products and libraries. This was far easier in WC 9.1.
For example, if I wish to add a new user to a Product, I could formerly access the Team tab anytime after I'd selected a product. It was always available from the top menu bar. While I like the new, less cluttered interface far better than 9.1, the new interface is so minimal that the same procedure is more convoluted:
Wow, only twelve easy steps! At the very least you should be able to right-click on a product (anywhere it appears) and select "Properties" (or "Options" or "Manage" or some other term) that gives you immediate access to these options:
This improvement alone chops the list of steps in half! To continue, let's say I was after the Team option like in the example above. I should be able to right-click on Team and select Add Members from a popup list. From the Add Members screen, I can currently select a User and the Role he/she should be assigned to. I can also select a Group and the Role that group should be assigned to. But I cannot select a User and the Group I want him/her placed in! By modifying the Add Members screen to have this option, you can cut the list down almost in half again.
The way I see it, this should be an operation that takes 4 steps MAX which would be a 75% reduction in effort to do the same task. Having to perform this same operation 2-3 times a day is really, really painful.

When I select the Products or Libraries icon in the side navigation bar and I need to View All products/libraries (instead of just the recent ones), list them in the side navigation window instead of collapsing the window and displaying the list in the main browser OR... display both. Before I'm pilloried, I need to mention I do know about the little pushpin. If you select the push pin on the navigator bar, it stays open. Still, having to select View All just so I can choose a product so it appears in the "recent" list is just silly. As soon as I hit View All, the list should expand to show all Products/Libraries I have access to view. There should not be extra steps.

After all this time, why is there still no option for an administrator to see all workspaces for another user from all contexts? If I know the specific context where I might find a user's workspace, I can see it. If a user leaves the 'company' and I have no idea what context he used to work in, I have to do detective work to determine where he might have a workspace so I can search for it and delete it. Why not just provide the ability to search by user name and pull up all workspaces from all contexts? This functionality gap feels like the kind of thing that happens when the people writing the software don't actually have to use it all day every day.
Hopefully that gets the ball rolling. If anyone has solutions to my pain points... or (more likely) pain points of their own, please post them. I'm a firm believer that if we don't speak up, PTC can't take steps to address our problems.

Is it possible to hook up with others attempting to implement Partslink in their operations? The initial installation and configuration is difficult to grasp. Especially when ones responsibilities are over all PDM and CAD administration. You are constantly pulled from one high level concern to another. Getting back to Partslink, which is quite complicated, is like having to relearn every time. Would be nice to connect with others that have gone through it or can educate. I do not see a structured session provided but would be willing to host in my room even after the regularly scheduled sessions.
I need to appened one action item to the EPM document like ( EPM actions-> download-> .Cat files or .Cat products). How can i achieve this. Im just a rookie here neep an expert help
Curious if anyone out there (1) manages NX CAD data via Windchill and if so (2) if Windchill is able to manage NX's CAE Data? In particular, the relationships between the files: *.prt -> *_i.prt -> *.fem -> *.sim

Our company try to use circuitworks with windchill.
Circuitworks use like Toolbox a own database, so whats the difference between toolbox and circuitworks?
With the new functionality in Windchill 10.2 – SolidWorks Workgroup Manager “Windchill File System” we can use the circuitworks parts in windchill but Windchill don't recognize them as toolbox parts.
The circuitworks parts are in the toolbox folder and we run the toolbox properties executable.
The parts are marked correct as toolbox parts but windchill don't reuse the parts who are already checked in.
so... The question is, when is for windchill a part = toolbox part? How realize windchill when to reuse the library parts and when not?

How are you guys finding Windchill developers, and do you find the pool of talent to be slim. I think we need to have PTC work with some US universities to teach this skill set and put some of our talented young people into this industry. We always find it hard to find good people even in this difficult economy.

From the instructions, it seems that it is a lot easier to create a new number sequence for an object via a non-modeled datastore sequence than a modeled datastore sequence. The thing that concerns me about the non-modeled sequence though is in the help instructions it says "When a non-modeled sequence is created, the database schema objects are not included in the Windchill introspection information. Therefore, some tools that rely on this information (e.g.Windu, upgrade tools) will treat these objects as unrelated to Windchill." Does this mean that there are problems when you do an upgrade, like from 10.1 to 10.2? Would you have to recreate them?

We have a requirement to use alphabetical versions on rare occasions due to an existing process from configuration management. I would like to know how to add alphabetical version to my existing numeric versioning scheme. The guides are a little cryptic as usuall, and I was wondering if someone out there had an idea of how to do this.
