We have a table which is showing the WTPart objects (100 Parts are in the table). The table is showing only 10 objects and we need to scroll down the table to see the full list of objects.

But the requirement is it should display all the objects in the table. How to achieve this requirement?

I have a wizard with treeBuilder as step.

Tree is constructed by implementing TreeHandler (to be exact MyTreeHadler extends TreeHandlerAdapter).

I have variable in MyTreeHadler to write some log during tree creation.

Is there any way to get this variable in wizard FormProcessor?

I've recently installed an monolithic instance of Windchill 10.1 M040 (SQL Server) and have spent several weeks tailoring it to our requirements, testing workflows & lifecycles document uploads, check ins & outs and so far everything's working well.  However, I've just noticed that when I interogate the "Server Status" the report states the following;

File Servers: 0 available; 1 Unavailable

and the bottom of the report states;

I can ping the server without any issues.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong?

I guess I have just reached a frustration level that I never experienced in my professional carrer with attempting to decode all of templates, processes, coding, JAVA, IBAs, attribute management, queue management, and the 100 other things that are trying to keep this system up and running. I truly feel that this was a plot by PTC management to purposefully make eveything so complex and complicated, and keep all the tricks to themselves on how to debug, fix, or customize anything in the system. Im sorry but I am not a JAVA programmer. I am an engineer who has worked in research and development for 20 years, then decided to try my hand at the admin role simply because I enjoyed helping people do and understand what I used to do. If I had time, I would write a Windchill for DUMMIES manual that explained things in laymans terms, not in 10 seperate manuals that are 400 pages thick. I have inquired into the training that tech support is provided, and PTC says, "It is not publicly avaiable to the customer". What a load of crap. We are the companies that pay the millions of dollars in development money to keep the product going. I feel like we are being ignored, and all I hear from the rest of the community is well you cant say it like that, or you have to be positive. I have given the better part of 20+ years supporting this company (PTC) and their software, but I am getting to my wits end. Sorry for the rant but I know there are other out there who feel this way and need the same help. Tech support is a joke and getting worse. So who else do we admins have to turn to?

I am looking to create a Managed Baseline programmatically.

We currently create an ECN programmatically, set it up using a few additional lines and persist it using the following:

     cn = (WTChangeOrder2)ChangeHelper2.service.saveChangeOrder(cn);

Is there an equivalent for a Managed Baseline?

We are currently running 9.1 M060 but will be upgrading to 10.1 M0XX in a couple months. Whether it works in 9.1 does not matter.

Please help to know the difference in below options in Creo.

1.     Save - Saves to user cache in local system.

2.     Upload - Uploads to local site replica (RFS) cache

3.     Update - ?

4.     Syncronize - Sync to common space (master server).

Some legacy Parts when imported into Windchill and rendered via the Creo view worker do not display correctly in Creoview.

PDMLink Version is 10.1 datecode M040.

Creo View Adapters (MCAD,ECAD) vers 2.0 datecode M040

The legacy parts were created in Wildfire 5.

The WVS rendering job appears to complete OK according to the logs.

When the file opens in Creo View 2.0 the meta data appears but the visualisation image is not seen.

I assume this is some subtlety in how the part was modeled that is different as 99% of the parts and assemblys render OK.

Any advice on what to look for in terms of rendering settings and possible causes would be appreciated.

Hi,

I want to search in Windchill for Primary Content attributes of documents but without succes. Is there a filter or configuration option/possibility to achieve this need?

Specially for managing documents in Windchill this is necessary to prevent entering double attribute information when uploading a new document. Now we have to copy e.g. the original pdf filename into another attribute field to find a suppliers document.

Has someone a solution?

From the instructions, it seems that it is a lot easier to create a new number sequence for an object via a non-modeled datastore sequence than a modeled datastore sequence.  The thing that concerns me about the non-modeled sequence though is in the help instructions it says "When a non-modeled sequence is created, the database schema objects are not included in the Windchill introspection information. Therefore, some tools that rely on this information (e.g.Windu, upgrade tools) will treat these objects as unrelated to Windchill."  Does this mean that there are problems when you do an upgrade, like from 10.1 to 10.2?  Would you have to recreate them?

I am wondering if there is a way i copy/paste things inside of a workspace.  I have this Change Task, it allows me to copy my CAD documents, but i want to paste them in my workspace, and i dont see a paste function within my workspace tabs.  Is there a special customization that can allow me to do so??  Otherwise i have to search each individiual part and add it to my workspace....  where if i have a task i can just simply copy and paste them into my workspace.

Windchill 10.1 promotion Request workflow.

I am using a Promotion Request to set the state on EPM and WTdocuments. I have a “rework” loop back to the author from a Approver task. At that rework loop the objects are unlocked and set back to a modifiable state. There is then a Conditional check to confirm that the iterations are all at the correct state. The latest iteration is then refreshed onto the promotion objects table. Before the Promotion Request is returned to the Approvers, it is Locked (objects set to a review only state).

This is all close to the Out Of Box configuration.

My Question (problem).

During the Approval role I have a controlled set of users who I have granted the ability to modify one document type. This results in a new iteration at the same Locked state (Under Review).

This creates two problems in my workflow. 1) The Conditional check on the Rework loop gets tripped as the Unlock only sets the highest iteration to Draft (modifiable state) and leaves the original Under Review iteration. 2) Without a rework loop, the workflow only promotes the original iteration on the Promotion Objects table and leaves the highest iteration at Under Review.

What I need is a workflow step at Refreshes all the Promotion Objects to the highest iteration.

I could then place that workflow step after the Approvers have approved (and one object was updated) so all objects on the promotion objects table are latest.

I could also place it before the rework loop and remove the state check on the Conditional loop.

I don’t know code but I think it has something to do with this:

Has anyone else had problems using the copy/paste/paste as share between projects in v10.1m040?  This used to work FINE and I can't figure out if it's a browser setting or something in the code that broke it.  The "Paste Type" window flashes, but it "defaults" to paste as a copy.

Our company try to use circuitworks with windchill.

Circuitworks use like Toolbox a own database, so whats the difference between toolbox and circuitworks?

With the new functionality in Windchill 10.2 – SolidWorks Workgroup Manager “Windchill File System” we can use the circuitworks parts in windchill but Windchill don't recognize them as toolbox parts.

The circuitworks parts are in the toolbox folder and we run the toolbox properties executable.

The parts are marked correct as toolbox parts but windchill don't  reuse the parts who are already checked in.

so... The question is, when is for windchill a part = toolbox part? How realize windchill when to reuse the library parts and when not?

We are running Creo 1.0 M050 w/ Windchill 10.0 M030.

After Creo crashes, I restart the application and it will then hang on the "Retrieval" Window ("Creo Parametric was not closed properly...Click retrieve or continue"). I am pretty sure it has to do with Windchill - in particular two lines in my config file. I know this because if I remove these lines from the config, Creo will not hang on the retrieval window upon startup.

The config file lines in question are:

pro_format_dir wtpub://Windchill/Libraries/Library/Formats

start_model_dir wtpub://Windchill/Libraries/Library/Formats

If I start Creo after a legitimate shutdown (not after a crash), everything loads just fine with no hangs.

Any ideas?

We try to set a version schema for our software documents.

I read about the posibilities in our windchill documentation.

I try to set it up like they wrote and windchill accept the commands.

The problem is, i get a error from our methodserver and I can't generate data with this version schema.

We want a version like 1.1.1  ...  1.3.2 ... 2.4.1 instead of A.1 ... b.4 ... D.1

I have a three-step wizard. On first two steps user can select wtparts and wtdocuments. On last third step the tree is created from previously selected objects.

If user returns to first or second step to change selection of documents, how to refresh the third-step tree with new data?
