we are using windchill 9.1,our test server got crashed due to some issue.So after starting the server i started the database and windchill.so resectively the method server ,background and server manager got started.but the method server and background server has been stopped automatically without any indication.We logged a call to the PTC tech support.they are claiming like this is because of the unavailable of LDAP Entry.can anyone help me to resolve the issue.i want to know is there any possiblity to create an LDAP registry Manually.

Loaders for CAD Data
Hello All,
I am looking for CAD Data Loader to load CAD Files to Windchill.
As in Windchill, by using Loaders we can load WTDocuments but what about of EPMDocuments.
These EPMDocuments may be from Pro-e or Catia.
Is any idea how i will do this?

Filename has been renamed in commonspace, please perform Workspace Synchronisation
Hi
I am new to windchill so sorry if this is an easy problem to solve. When I try to file drw files into a context in windchill I get this error message "Filename has been renamed in commonspace, please perform Workspace Synchronisation" I have performed a workspace sync and I have tried a new workspace and various different drw files but still get the same error message. Any help would be appreciated, my support says that there is a patch that will sort this porblem out.

CREO BOM with Nested repeat region
Hello All,
I am facing an issue with Creo BOM using nested repeat region.
In the BOM I am showing the main assembly & the next level sub-assemblies & parts. To show weight in BOm I am using &WEIGHT parameter.
When I create the BOM every part shows correct weight, I save the drawing & close it. But when I reopen the drawing the weight of 1 part is changed automatically & I have to regenerate the drawing to get the correct weight displayed in the BOM.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? What is the solution for this?

Workflow Definer window is blank - no errors
I am trying to access the Workflow Definer to view the graphic layout of the workflow. The initial template window appears warning not that it should not be closed. A warning then appears asking if I want to run the application. When I click "run" the workflow window opens but it is blank. It does have a java icon beside it but there is no error.
I am using Windchill 10.1 on IE 8. I was told to install Java 32 bit (1.6.0_21) and this would resolve the issue. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this? By the way, another user is able to view the workflow. We cannot see any difference in our setup.

Windchill DTI Install/Run Issue
Hi All,
I've got a test 10.1M040 Windchill server set up and want to run DTI on my local machine (Win 7 64bit) Office 2010
I've set the preferences in Windchill and downloaded and run the installer from the server as directed in the DTI Guide. When I run MS Word or Excel Windchill tab appears correctly.
I then configure the connection to the server which asks me for Username and Password.
When I try to use "Select Active Server" it comes back with
The software was installed from the server so the version is correct. It looks as though it is not writing the values into the registry correctly.
If I repeat the same on another machine (64 bit) logged in as me it all seems to work correctly and there are differences in the registry entries
Anyone seen this and fixed it
PS if I do change the registry so the server values are correct I get another error as follows: -
I got to Demo this to some interested sections of the business next week so am trying to get this fixed,
IMHO - TS are not being very helpful

Unable to check in parts because it says they're already checked in but are not
I'm trying to check in a series of parts/assemblies into Windchill but I get the following error message: New Object EPM Document Master - xxx.prt has same file name that exists in the database. In order to upload this object, you must update this object in the Workspace. My problem is that these parts are NOT in the Windchill cabinet yet. They are still new parts. When I do a search for these items, nothing shows up (as it shouldn't). When I try to update the items, there is nothing to update since they are still showing as new in my Workspace. Any idea as how to fix this or at least see what is supposedly in the Windchill cabinet?? I don't have admin rights so maybe there is something there that I just don't have access to see. Thanks.

Serching on a renamed object?
I was wondering if there is some way to modify Windchill such that you would be able to search on the old name as well. I know that you can view the rename history but that is not searchable. If I rename 123456.prt to 654321.prt I would like to be able to search for 123456.prt? thanks in Advance

Ghost parts
My company installed Windchill a couple of month ago and we have been seeing a lot of ghost part issues, with the items that we imported into Windchill. As a company we used Proe without Windchill or any other data management software for over a year, so we had thousands of models that we imported. The problem we are having is that when we try to revise or copy any of the assemblies we imported we are getting several ghost parts and cant find a way to resolve them so we can check in our work. We have tried using the Auto Resolve at check in, but that isnt working. The ghost parts that are being created are things that dont exist anywhere and no one seems to know what that are. My guess is they are old items that were at one point part of the assembly, but where removed some time before they were imported into Windchill. If anyone has any advice on how to resolve ghost parts it would be appreciated.

Ghost Object file extension: asm.prt
I have ghost objects that won't allow me to check-in an assembly and its instances. Each family table instance has a ghost object in my Workspace with the file extension: asm.prt I've never seen this type of file extension. Does anyone know about this file extension and how to resolve the ghost objects?

Intralink 3.4 - Activity log
Hello,
As part of our ISO27001 assessment, I have been asked to create and monitor activity logs for the Intralink data.
Is this possible?
If so, how do I do it?
I am not aware of any such log functions, but you may know differently.
If it is not possible, that's OK, but I would be happier having some backup from the experts when I make the assertion.
Any suggestions (apart from moving to PDMLink) gratefully received.

Pro/ENGINEER, Creo - Automatically attach other native CAD as secondary content
Is there a way to automatically attach a pre-existing local file as secondary content to a checked-out ProENGINEER or CREO 2 CADDocument from within the native environment such that a subsequent checkin would have this file as an attachment
I know that this capability exists within the 3rd-Party WorkGroup Manager by specifying 2 preferences but I cannot see that there is anything similar for Pro/E or Creo
I know that you can use the Save a Copy capability but this doesn't really suit my need as I want to be able to attach a pre-existing file e.g the PROE model in another native CAD format such as UG-NX .prt or CATIAV5 CATPart and Save a Copy doesn't give me this option, only some neutral output file types.
Is there something in the Save a Copy process flow to spoof the content created in this way and substitute my required content ?
Is there something a could do with J-Link to "enhance" the Save a Copy capability ?

How to customize notification email subject to include more information like Change request number , Process Name
I am sending notification through activity's "send notification" option and not through “notify by email robot”
I have modified <WT_HOME>\codebase\templates\workNotification\GeneralSubject_<Locale>.html
files by adding below scripts

customized content types
Hi All,
I have a requirement where custom content role type needs to be declared in ContentRoleType.rbInfo, using the entries, i need to upload the content for each type declared. I tried to use the standard methodologies used in create/edit processors(Windchill 10.1), but they are always add the content as secondary type instead of custom types. Any idea how to acheive this.

Multiple Change Requests associated to one Change Notice
We are trying to use the OOTB workflows for the Change Requests and Change Notices (at least for now). We would like to have the ability to combine several Change Requests into one Change Notice, and have the whole workflow remain fully closed loop for all the CR's and CN.
Maybe I am missing something obvious (I did try the Cardinality Preferece setting, but did not get any noticable results). It seems like this should be a common need, but maybe not? Either way, any advice is appreciated.
