now i want to export all BOM's present in Whindchill, so first i need to be find out the "0" Level Items from Windchill.
Plese let me know how i can do this ?

I'm looking at Desktop Integration as a potential way to address user complaints about the number of clicks to dowload a Document. From what I can see there's no way to filter by State and/or Latest in Windows Explorer - please tell me I'm missing something because that's probably a non starter right there.
Use case is Creo Drawings are exported to PDF and stored as primary content in a WTDocument. Multiple reasons for this approach including being able to "hardwire" the relationship to WTPart and needed user control of Drawing image at "plottng". Drawings get digital signatures applied as part of the approval process. Unfortunately, user experience has resulted in the approval process occurring offline via emails and Network Folders, upstream of WC CM Workflow (completing Change Task). I'd be interested to hear how others are addressing Digital Signatures withing workflows.
Other stakeholders are non-engineering (purchasing). DTI would be a great way for buyers to access drawings (pdf's) via drag and drop. It probably means getting to a single Drawings Library (unfortunately OIR's only do Relative Paths, not Absolute so that's another discussion). Assuming that all drawings (PDF's) were stored in a single Context, a view or filters would be needed to ensure that only latest and Released were visible to these users.
Any ideas?

Hi Guys,
I have a question on EPMDocument event handling in Windchill.
Whenever a collection of EPMDocuments(family table or independent objects) are checked in to Windchill from the Workspace, in OOTB, which Listener services triggered for this event.
I want the list of files from Windchill codebase that are involved in this event handling service.
Does the solution available in any PTC reference guides?

Hi all,
Recently I encountered a very strange Windchill behavior so I would appreciate if anyone can give me a suggestion what I did wrong. I got an assembly with three parts (part-001, part-002 and part-003) I added value for findNumber (in Windchill) attribute for every part (respectively 1, 2, 3) and then I checked in the assembly. After running the webject I got proper result (values for findNumber for the parts as given):

Then I changed findNumber values a couple of times (checking in the assembly for every change), (last values were 11,12,13). Then I run the webject again and I was suppressed with the result, I did’t got findNumber values 11, 12, 13 but random value from previously added findNumer values.
I don’t know where the problem lies and what to do to get the right value (the last one) for the findNumber, please help.

Hi,
I've deleted an user both from Windchill and LDAP.
But the user is featured as: user's name (deleted) on Windchill pages.
The same string is on drawings e.g.
It doesn't look right if you can read—author: user's name (deleted) on drawing.
How can I get rid of "deleted" string.

I tried to add a link to NavigationRB.rbinfo file but something went wrong. Where should I add a new manu link in this RBinfo file? Also, what changes do I need to make in Navigation-actions.xml and Navigation-actionmodels.xml files?

Example:
Consider below BOM:
Top_Part (Adv Config Part)
Part1 (for option1) Qty - 1
Part2 (for option2) Qty - 2
Part3 (for both options) Qty - 2 Meters for Option1 and 5 Meters for Option2
While configuring, selecting option1 should result in:
Top_Part
Part1 Qty - 1
Part3 Qty - 2 Meters
Selecting option2 should result in:
Top_Part
Part2 Qty - 2
Part3 Qty - 5 Meters

We are using Windchill9.1,our test server got shutdown due to some issue.After starting the Server we started the windchill,so the Method server,Background server and Server manager got started automatically.but method server and background server is getting closed after that.Technical support claims that the LDAP entry is not available thats way this issue is coming up.can anyone help me resolve this is issue.Is it possible to create an LDAP Entry Manually.

I have been trying to create a bom report in Windchill which shows all assemblies and parts totaled up. Because we have a top assembly with multiple assemblies inside, which then contain parts and additional assemblies the standard options don't give me the structure I require. The multi level components doesn't show the sub assemblies and the multi level bom doesn't total up the parts for the complete top level assembly only the sub assemblies. Is it possible to create a user defined report ?

For migration purposes, I want to be able to set the creator and modifier for EPMDocuments and WTParts.
Till know I haven't seen any possibility to be able to do this, except for an SQL-update on the database. I prefer to set these attributes with help of the Method Server, but there's no function in the LoadFromFile framework (Windchill Loader) and there's no setter in wt.fc.PersistInfo to give this ability.
Does somebody know how I can set these properties over the Method Server? Or does somebody know why PTC wants to prevent that software engineers can set these properties? I would appreciate any help.

Hi all,
we are facing a challenge to use an upload mechanism in a distributed windchill environment. For that we want to use as much ootb interface technology as possible. In one approach we have implemented a solution for WTDocuments using the Generic Web Service, which is based on SOAP. Our users can click in an authoring application to send files to Windchill as WTDocuments.
This is fine and working, but it is not respecting our fileserver infrastructure. We have multiple remote sites with their own fileservers. If now a File is send to Windchil via the Generic Web Service, this file is transferred to the central Master Server and than back to the local Fileserver.
Are there any approaches out there to avoid this not needed network transfer for WTDocuments?

We have been running Windchill for a while and have it installed with Windchill Directory Service (WDS).
WDS has always run fine being installed as a Windchill Service but for some reason after a restart on Monday Evening Windchill DS Service would no longer start
In the end I had to remove it as a windows service and start it manually and this got the users back on line and running
Has anyone else come across this problem and resolved it
