How to search for CAD Documents in PTC Windchill PDMLink which match a list of Product numbers (Global attribute) or Product codes (another Global attribute) in a file
Hello everyone,
I have a need to be able to check in PDMLink if a certain set of Products (identified by product numbers and/or Product codes) that are made available in a file (excel) exist in PDMLink or not (in a certain state).
We know that we have a clear mismatch in what all data has been uploaded in our system.
We need to figure out exactly what all Products are missing in the system that should have been there.
So, we have retrieved an excel from our ERP system consisting of all Product numbers and Product codes (These are defined as Global attributes on EPMDocument type in Windchill)
It is a huge list of around 10000 products in that excel.
What I am looking for is a way to be able to check whether a certain Product (identified by Product no/Product code) has an equivalent EPMDocument (in Released state) in Windchill.
If any of you have encountered similar issues, I would appreciate it how you managed to handle this.

Policy Administration question
I'm working on another update to our Change Management workflows. In this new version I end up with a bunch of sub-types of WTChangeActivity2.
One in particular is fairly simple. On that I'm guessing that if I set it up this way I can give these two principals the access needed (Modify, etc.) while all other Roles get only Read & Download:
Before I go too far down that rabbit hole, I want to confirm that everyone listed as Principal get the expanded permissions, even when there are multiple Roles chosen as Principal. After all, nobody likes messing with this cumbersome interface for a few hours only to have to delete and start over because of an unforeseen problem.

Run .bat Using Workflow
Hi Everyone,
Is there a way for me to run a batch file (.bat) stored on the Windchill server using Workflows?
I found the following PTC support document:

But I've not been able to get it to work as of yet. Does the above article seem correct, or is there another method that can be used?

Launch Application Robot
Good afternoon.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience working with this particular robot. If so, I would appreciate seeing any examples you would be willing to share.
I am trying to find a way to launch a batch file using a workflow to act as the trigger. But I haven't been able to find any examples for this particular robot. In our application, I would like to be able to pass two workflow variables to a batch file and run it.
I would appreciate any hints. Thanks!

Completed Workflow Task will not clear from WC inbox
User has accepted a workflow task and completed the task. The task should automatically be removed from inbox and go to the next task. The wf does advance to the next task and the task does appear in the next user's inbox, however, the previous task still appears in the previous user's inbox (note: this task does indicate that it has been completed). Has anyone else had this happen? Note: All other wf tasks are working correctly in this user's inbox. Thanks

Importing non Windchill/PTC files into Windchill for rev control
We imported non-PTC files into a workspace and checked them into WindChill. We can check-out the file. How do we load the files into the native application and save back to the workspace so that a check-in action to WindChill would index the file version?

WPA to be reviewed by IPC

As far as I know, WPA is not listed in previous IPC reports.

Windchill Rehost Utility 3
Could someone please either upload or give a link to their Windchill Rehost Utility 3 or whichever is the current release?
Trying to rehost from one machine to another.
We have PDM Essentials and the documentation calls out to go login and go to the downloads page but it doesn't exist there. Even had a help ticket open for 2 weeks but they were never able to help.

Update Query Builder Report - Windchill Shell
Hello,
Does anyone know what the command is (if there is one) to edit reports in the query builder using the Windchill shell?
Ideally I'd like to be able to completely replace a report already in the Query Builder with a .qml file, but still keep the original report ID.
If this isn't possible, does anyone know the command to just upload a new report to the Query Builder in the form of a .qml file (I'm fairly sure that this is possible as I believe I've done it before)?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can we create a shortcut/hyperlink to start a new Change Notice (or a document) in Windchill?
Specifically, I want to create a shortcut that resides outside of PDMLink such that then when a user clicks on it it will:
- Open WC, and request to log in if not already logged in (I know how to do this aspect to any location in Windchill)
- Start a Change Notice (or a document)
I am primarily asking for Change Notices, however, if it can also be done for initiating new documents, or other types of objects in in PDMLink (Such as Change Requests, etc) that would be useful to.
Does anyone know how to create this shortcut in Windchill?

Can we do 'Save As' on a Non-CAD document(.pdf, .doc) in windchill?
We can surely do Save As of Part and CAD document. When I try doing a Save As on pdf document, I get ' Error: Invalid object type for Save As'. Could anyone please tell me if there is a preference to allow Save As on Non-CAD documents.
