I installed windchill 10.2 M030 in centos6.3 as a test server. When i try to install the creo view in browser it is showing like Platform Not support.
Is there any other way to solve this issue??
Because many lightweight users are using centOS and they want to view the CAD file using creo view/Product view.

With Options & Variants capability in windchill 9.1, how we can build the rules (Parameters, expressions, constraints, case tables, etc.,) to drive the quantity of an item under an Advanced Configurable Part?
Example:
Consider below BOM:
Top_Part (Adv Config Part)
Part1 (for option1) Qty - 1
Part2 (for option2) Qty - 2
Part3 (for both options) Qty - 2 Meters for Option1 and 5 Meters for Option2
While configuring, selecting option1 should result in:
Top_Part
Part1 Qty - 1
Part3 Qty - 2 Meters
Selecting option2 should result in:

We are looking at the "Profiles" functionality as a means to control the UI visibility.
I was reading through the documentation that the context specific "Configure Actions for Roles" will over ride the Org wide profile settings.
The documentation reference is below.
Default Visibility for Application Context Managers
The site and organization administrator can choose to set defaults for and hide control over a specific product, library, project, or other application context action or user interface element. That is, the site and organization administrator can carefully control which elements that application context managers (project, product, and library managers) are able to override in a context instance.
Removing the ability for an application context manager to override a profile setting is done by globally hiding visibility to the Configure Actions for Roles action for a specific context. If this is done, then the visibility of actions and areas of the user interface in a context instance cannot be modified by that application context manager.
It seems that on already created contexts, applying the profile settings seems to be a challenge.
All I want to know is that a simple way to disable the Context setting for the UI for Roles, so that my profile setting at Org level is activated.
Is there preference or property to achieve this?
Any good practices on profiles? Dos and Donts?

Hi All,
PFB method server log which is showing an error even though the Windchill got started successfully. I am not able to see the navigator and other tabs and anything in Windchill as and when I login with the credentials.

we have been developing a CAD launcher to handle the multiple CAD systems we use to ensure users get the correct configs for client projects etc.
The missing link so far is to automatically register the correct version of the CAD app with the WGM.
Currently we can check if an app is registered by qeurying the 'appregistry.xml' file in the users AppData\Roaming\PTC\Windchill Workgroup Manager\.Settings folder. However the user is still required to manually register the app if it is not already registerd.
Potentially we could modify this file programatically as well as doing the necessary rename / copy in the WGM install folder, btu not sure if there are other things that happen when you regiert an application with the WGM.
Anybody managed to do this? Is it even possible?
Have had a look at the WGM API, but that appears to only allow customisation within the WGM itself.

I would like to use a Single level BOM report structure to display a full Bill of materials that mimics the the output of information given if doing a BOM In the cad only structure. We currently use a recursive table to give us the sum of all assemblies used in a Vehicle no mater what structure level they are at. We use this as a picking list to give to our stores. The problem is that since we have started to assemble wt items into our assembly structure we now have no way of creating the same table/bom for our wt assemblies. The Single level BOM report does not give the same results if done using the wt structure compared with doing the same report with the cad structure. Has anyone had to do a custom report for this to work? Thanks
Below is a Single level BOM report structure using wt items, In this report it will not sum up the total assemblies needed, instead you would have to times each assembly by the parent assembly to gain a total. This is not ideal when we using hundreds of assemblies.

We creates our organization via loadfile and we'd like to set "Allow sourcing administrators to create organizations" attribute as "yes" (see screen below). Is there a possibility to do this via loadfile? Or is there an another way to do this without using UI?

So I am trying to set my properties for IEAdapters in the rehost.properties file. It says to do one for each adapter. When I export per the instructions I get for adapters. One is for load balancer, one is for Ldap, one is for EnterpriseLdap and one is for ActvDirAdapter. Do I need one for each or are any of them covered in other properties, like EnterpriseLdap? The example in the book doesn't cover the one for AD. Any tips on that? The instructions are not very clear, but am I also supposed to change the server name to the target server name?

In an effort to make an enhanced BOM report in our PDM10 M040 system I have tried to make a copy of the existing Multi-level BOM report that is normally run through a part Structure page but am having trouble doing so. This report does function and has relatively good information to start with and OOTB cannot, in fact, be run from a regular Report page; it spits out an error message saying "Run this from a part's Structure view". It is a Cognos-based report. To avoid mucking up this functioning report I tried, through Cognos8, to do the Copy function that shows up on a report when you click the More button on its entry line when looking at the report folders in Windchill. And every time I try this I've found that the copy is imperfect; several of the files that you see in the ZIP file of a report exported from Windchill are different between the original and the fresh copy, and usually the fresh copy doesn't even function.
For example, a first-layer file in the exported ZIP is one called TAG-LocationDescriptor-0.xml and it contains several reference links for the report. In the copy, several of the lines are missing.
What am I doing wrong? Is there some extra special setting in the Cognos Copy function that I have to trigger to make it properly duplicate the original report and not miss this stuff?

The PLM area are growing to cover more and more of traditional ERP domains. With IoT and digital twins follows the needs to store the configuration of the physical product over time (As-Build and As-Maintained structure). In Windchill we can manage part configurations and part instances, but there is limitations aw the instance structure can be changed/maintained independently over time. What is PTC´s recommendation to meet this need? What products or solution is covering the use case?
