generate PDF from drawings and store in Windchill
Hi,
I have a range of drawings that I have stored on Windchill. How do I genereate PDF files of these drawings? And is there a way of storing them/ exporting them to an external location outside of Windchill?
Is this something that is done within Creo or Windchill?

Define external access in LDAP
Hi Everyone
I was thinking on what would be the easiest solution to grant access for external users by reading an attribute from LDAP or put a users into a specific group.
I'm not really an expert on Apache but is it possible to configure the app-windchill-auth.xconf to check if the user have an attribute or if it's in a group or allow the access using the internal.com domain and than using a satisfy any?
If you do have any other idea or you can help me on that I appricite for that.

Purpose of /System domain at product level
Is anybody able to enlighten me to the purpose of the /System domain at product level?
The parent /Private domain at organization level I get (I think). For private products this becomes the parent of /Default domain at product level.
Out of the Box the /System domain is a child of /Private for products, libraries, projects and programs and this is the case regardless if the container is part of a shared team, or marked private or public.
When do the /system rules at product level come into play? To take just one specific example out of the box /System contains a rule to grant all permissions on cabinet to teamMembers, which I can’t explain as the cabinet is associated to the /default domain. Hence it would appear to be redundant.

Auto - Numbering Scheme: how to reset to a given number

anyone knows how to reset the autonumbering of CAD documents in Windchill 10.2 to a given number?
For example, I have to reset the autonumbering ,instead from 150001, from 150014....How can I do it starting from these strings I have in the xml file of EPM document voice (Object initialization Rules)? :

Correct Validation step for Import from Spreadsheet to permit copy/paste or export
Currently in Windchill 10.2, performing copy/paste operations out of the Validation step of Import from Spreadsheet results in not all of the information being pasted correctly. For our users, who frequently run into errors and find they need to provided these errors to our business support team for assistance, this can be frustrating, especially when errors scroll off the screen and many print screen operations are required to get around this issue.
I logged a support call (12336037) and was told this is due to the combined JavaScript/Ajax coding is the reason why copy/paste doesn't work.
I see two options -
1) Re-code the page to permit copy/paste.
2) Add a simple "Export" or "Copy to clipboard" button to permit these errors to be communicated.

Structure Compare Confusion (WTPart/CAD)
Hi there. I am using the structure compare tool and I'm confused. In my CAD structure I have a Creo part 12345. Creo part 12345 has an associated WTPart 12345 with an "owner" relationship. When I go to the Creo part's structure page and use the compare tool, there is a blank line on the right where the WTPart should show up. I know the WTPart exists and I know that it is associated to the Creo part. Why would it not show up?

Windchill Publisher stopped
Hi, I'm having a problem with the Windchill publisher, I've had a quick look inside the utilities / queue management and I'm not certain if all the Publishers should be enabled as a couple of ours seem to be disabled or stopped. Is this correct or should they all be enabled and started ? Any help or tips will be appreciated.

how to copy the CAD/Dynamic Doc from product to product?
hi every one,
i just trying to copy the cad Doc from one product to another then the error is coming while pasting in another product.
error says that " the cad or dynamic document can only be pasted to project from library or product"?

So, why doesn't "update" actually WORK?
I have "dm_overwrite_contents_on_update" set to "yes", and an overwrite in Intralink worked just fine, every time......yet now in W/C update doesn't actually do anything? Huh?

Nuisance pop-up tags during Windchill attribute editting
Is there anyway to turn off the nuiscance pop-up tags that show up in Windchill during attribute editting?
The tag interfers with your ability to select the table cell to edit. We are looking for some relief.

Office 32bit with DTI 64 bit Issue
All,
We have 64 bit Win 7 pro machines but our IT want us to run 32 bit MS Office 2010. When we install DTI it has to be 64bit because of the OS
Has anyone seen issues such as word closing down with an error or Windows Explorer closing down unexpectedly?
We have seen this on a couple machines now so am now delaying rolling out DTI until we can fix this

Link WTPart to drawings without revising drawing?
We recently implemented phase 1 of Windchill PSM. During data migration WTParts were left without links to CAD Documents. Currently to create the links one must check out the WTPart, thus advancing the revsion of the WTPart, thus necessitating a drawing revision. Is there a way to circumvent the drawing revision? A thought was to manually change the LCS of the WTPart to "In Revision", but I am unaware of consequences that may occur. Thanks

Converting files from Windchill back to Relex?
My program has a set of files that were created in Windchill 10.2, I'm trying to open them in Relex 2011 but I'm getting an error essentially stating I can't open them because they are from a newer version of the software. Is there a way to revert them back to Relex?

Data Package automation by customization
The Data Package functionality is a perfect way to share information with external parties. The creation of data packages is however labor intensive, especially when it comes to predefined (fixed) package content. Therefore we are look for customization to automate steps in the creation of Data Packages and defining Deliveries.
Steps we would like to automate are:
- Apply table views to filter package content
- Lock the package and defining file extensions to include/exclude
- Creation of a delivery (Recipient Name is known as an attribute at the data package)
- ZIP Package for Delivery
- Set security labels at the Delivery based on the most severe security label of content in the ZIP file.
- Sending the package
- Sharing the created ZIP file to a ProjectLink environment (known as an attribute at the data package)
Anyone having experience with solving any of the issues mentioned? A code examples would be very helpful.

Display Hyperlink on "Create New" and "Edit" screen of Change Request
I have a custom attribute called "Customer Name" which I have created on the Change Request. It is a multi-value, string type, required attribute. In order to help the user fill this out, I would like to display a hyperlink that the user can click on which will display a web document that has a useful customer matrix on it.
I'm not sure the best way to do this but from the user perspective, if the attribute itself "Customer Name" could be a hyperlink that the user could click that would be cool. Or if some instructions could be added above or below the attribute which says something along the lines of "Click Here For Matrix" and have that be a hyperlink that could work too.
Anyone know how to add this into the "Create New" and "Edit" screens of the Change Request?

10.2: Can't select phases in "Life Cycle Template Admin" with java 1.8
Hello to all,
after the installation of Java 1.8 client, we can't select phases of an "Advanced" Lifecylce in the "Life Cycle Admin".
We can create new phases and can also select the new phases, but existing phases dosn't work.
