Workflow hanging at set state robot

For particular workflow processes, it is hanging at the Set State Robot, and throwing the following error. I could not find any root cause for this issue.

 

A nested transaction cannot be started when a rollback is in progress.  The following is the rollback stacktrace.

Creo 2 - Windchill connectivity

We have just upgraded to Creo 2 (from wildfire 5) and are having issues connecting to our Windchill server on start up. We have Windchill 10.0 M040 and Creo 2 M090.

 

We Log into Creo 2 the first time, set up the server details using server manager. The second time we log in all is well, server has connected and we can see and use the workspaces. The third (and any subsequent log ins), the server has disappeared from the list of servers, and we have to manually log in again.

 

Windchill works fine in an IE browser.

 

I have deleted the .wf file in my appdata/roaming/ptc/proEngineer/Wildfire folder, and deleted the 2.3 file in appdata/local/ptc/creo/platform folder as instructed by our USA counterparts, but to no avail.

Mapping creator attribute in desktop integration

I recently added some custom attribute mapping in Desktop Integration per the instructions in document CS36657 (http://sv-hou-cadls01.cjes.local/Windchill/app/#ptc1/tcomp/infoPage?oid=OR%3Awt.doc.WTDocument%3A135716&u8=1)

 

It sort of works, but when mapping the "creator" attribute from Windchill to the "Created By" attribute in Office, the username (e.g. - bsmith) is what is displayed in the Office document.  I would rather the full name of the creator be displayed (e.g. - Bob Smith).

 

Does anyone know of a way to map the Fullname field of the creator attribute to Office instead of the username field?

 

Any help is appreciated.

Name and Number

Is there a way to get like a full system report if there are any differences between the Name and Number of an item?

 

We are using Windchill 10.0 M030 and most of our items are matched up, but a few of them have contradicting Names and Numbers. I would like to know if there is a way to get a list of all the items with discrepancies?

 

Attached it what I am looking at trying to match up.

for change admin II role in a team I have added a group called CM as an assignee.

 

how can I get the this group from product using code

And also in general how to get a particular role and respective particiapants in a team (specific to a product)

Windchill 10.1 and Java

Hi All,

 

I am wondering what the correct Java build should be used with Windchill 10.1 on client machines running Windows 7 64bit.

We are using Creo 2.0 M080 with Windchill 10.1 M040.

 

There are some users that are losing connection and some work is not being saved properly. This is leading to a mismatch in cache data between the Server Workspace and the Client Workspace.

 

We are not sure if this a Java issue but trying to check different avenues where an error may occur.

Change Soft Type Name Attribute

Does anyone know how to change the Name attribute of a soft type to a drop down list instead of a line to type on?  I changed the attribute to have an Enumerated Value List, Selection List Style to Drop Down and Input Field Type to Single Line.  I stopped and started my server and no change.  I am on 10.1 m040.  We want to control what names can be picked for a soft type document.

Windchill business reporting issue

I am installing WBR 10.2 on existing 10.1 machine.

 

I have 2 machine,the machine where I am installaing contains only previuos 10.1 reporting folder  and parts link server.

 

I am getting error while installing WBR 10.2,related to path .

 

n existing installation of Windchill Business Reporting has been detected in D:\ptc\Windchill_10.1\Reporting. A new installation of Windchill Business Reporting cannot be performed until the existing installation is uninstalled and the machine is rebooted.

 

Please help me.

Publish PDF files of DRAWINGS whith many sheets

Hi

It´s my first intervention in a Windchill forum and i hope someone can help me.

 

I have Windchill 10.1 configurated for publishing PDF files whenever we do checkin or create a representation.

this works pretty well, but we have somes drawings whit 2 sheets, and in those cases, Windchill creates a PDf with two pages. What i want to know is if there's a way of creating only the first sheet in PDF.

Hi.

I have soft type of WTPart and soft type of WTPartUsageLink.

How can i specify my link soft type while adding one part to structure?

I cann't create relationship constraint for my link soft type, only for WTPartUsageLink. Where and what do i need set in settings to enable this option?

Do you currently have an attribute that contains the same information as Part Usage Line Number or Find Number ?

PTC is currently considering an enhancement to the build process to allow an attribute in the CAD Document Uses Link Soft Type to be mapped to either the WTPart Usage Find or Line Numbers.

 

From a dev perspective, it would be much cleaner to require:

  • The preference for Line Number ONLY allows attributes that are of type INTEGER.
  • The preference for Find Number ONLY allows attributes that are of type STRING.

Requiring this means that the build process (and thus check in of the CAD Document) would never fail due to value/type mismatch.

 

 

However, we (PMs) are wondering if that would be too restrictive.

 

Do you currently populate Assembly Drawing Balloons or BOM Balloon numbers to an attribute?

Do you know what type (i.e. integer, string, other) of attribute is being used?

WTpart CAD Doc links...why so many?

Would anyone like to share real world uses for these links (what type of data and why you choose the link you do)?  I have read PTC definition and the definition on this site...still kind of foggy.  I understand Owner and Calculated (easy), but the others....?  Lets say I have a fixture that I want to asociate with a part that uses that fixture, what link would I use to represent that?  This would help with down stream notification of what fixfture to use and for the engineer to know when revising that they need to look at changing the fixture to match the new part version.

Solidworks Circuitworks

HI guys,

 

hope someone can give me a hint with my Circuitworks problem.

Our company try to use circuitworks with windchill.

Circuitworks use like Toolbox a own database, so whats the difference between toolbox and circuitworks?

With the new functionality in Windchill 10.2 – SolidWorks Workgroup Manager “Windchill File System” we can use the circuitworks parts in windchill but Windchill don't recognize them as toolbox parts.

The circuitworks parts are in the toolbox folder and we run the toolbox properties executable.

The parts are marked correct as toolbox parts but windchill don't  reuse the parts who are already checked in.

 

so... The question is, when is for windchill a part = toolbox part? How realize windchill when to reuse the library parts and when not?
