dateInputComponent - initial value of blank

I'm using the wrapper component, "dateInputComponent" to create date boxes on my forms.  I need to make the initial value of the date box an empty string or a null value.  I've been unable to do this because the component attribute "dateValue" requires a correct date.  It won't take "" or null or anything that is not a correct date value.  Does anyone know how to make this form field blank?

 

This is not the same thing as a date attribute on an object that can be set to blank using allClients.xml or the JCA describeProperty tags for JCA tables. This is using the wrappers tags.

Launch bom comparison

Hi,

 

I want to launch the comparison of 2 bom structures in the tab history in Windchill 9.1 (see screenshot). Does anyone have experience with this ?

This should be the case when clicking on a link in an email received by the reviewer.

If you have it for Windchill 10.2 then it is ok, we can wait until the update.

Comparing Drawing PDFs for differences - no maint

This can easily be done with Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or GIMP.

 

Unlike other comparison tools these easily allow moving views that are mis-aligned from updates, moving blocks of text, comparing items that have been moved to other sheets or have changed scale. They can be used to compare new CAD documents against previously hand-drawn items that have been scanned and can be used to remove distortions that occur in those scans.

Method server logging abnormally large amounts of data

All,

Recently our method server has been logging abnormally large amounts of data - It will fill a 9MB MethodServer log file in about 1 minute often from the actions of a single user who is not even checking data in. Some days over 1 GB of data will be logged and on other days with similar activity levels there might be less than 20 MB.

All the extra data falls into these two categories apparently having to do with Pro/E units and PV thumbnails:

Does anyone have any idea why this might occur?

I tried a PTC recommended setting:

xconfmanager -s log4j.logger.com.ptc.windchill.uwgm=ERROR -t C:\ptc\Windchill_9.1\Windchill\codebase\WEB-INF\log4jMethodServer.properties -p

But it didn't make any difference.

How to start 'windchill profiler' on slave machine, in cluster environment?

Windchill is installed on cluster environment & profiler works on BMS but not on Slaves, it gives error on slave 'Unable to connect to Windchill', no prompt for credentials.

Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M030 Installed with errors at Business Reporting

Hi All,

 

I've installed Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M030. The installation has been completed  but  with leaving two error at Business Reporting and Business reporting language pack.

Unable to find the reason for this.

Request you to suggest me  how to resolve.

(I'm here by attaching  error screen shot )

Configurable Links - Cannot Filter

I have setup a configurable link from document to a part.  Everything works, but when I try to customize the table view, I cannot 'Set Filter'...anyone have any ideas?

Rehosting Tool - Automate Extra Tasks

After each rehosting process there are a series of steps I have to manually complete.

  • Delete the remote file server
  • Empty the contents of the visualization queues
  • Use xconfmanager to make several property changes
  • Use QueueManager to delete a bunch of extra visualization queues

 

Does anyone know if there is a way to script these into the rehosting process?

  2. EBOM
  3. SBOM
  4. Illustrations
  5. Partlist
  6. Information Structure
  7. Product Structure
  8. Arbortext Editor content

Is it possible to export all this information in one zip file?

Cognos Error when running any report

I have a strange Cognos error that PTC is having a hard time diagnosing. I have Cognos installed correctly and double checked all of the db.properties. I can also successfully login to Cognos's web UI and update the model/load reports. Authentication works fine as well. See the error below:

Getting ready to upgrade to Windchill PDMLink 10.2

I'm starting down the path of upgrading our PDMLink installation from 9.1 to 10.2. A couple of  questions have popped up as I start looking at the documentation.

 

  1. Has anyone tried running PDMLink 10.2 M030 using Oracle 11.2.0.3? The software matrix says that Oracle versions of 11.2.0.4 or greater are supported, but we won't be there until later in the year (in time to support the production upgrade). I'm wondering what issues I might run into if I run 10.2 M030 against Oracle 11.2.0.3
  2. Does the version of Apache shipped with PDMLink 10.2 support encrypted passwords? I'm told the lack of this support was a primary driver for using IIS as our web server, so if it now handles encrypted passwords I can re-evaluate that decision.

Using Compare Content from Version History page in Creo Workspace

Hello everyone,

 

Has anyone had success using the Compare Content command from Version History page in Creo Workspace?

 

I tried the procedure at http://support.ptc.com/cs/help/windchill_hc/wc101_hc/index.jspx?id=CADxInfoPgRprtsContentCompare&action=show but at the point it says a report will be presented, no report is presented.  Instead it does not appear in our installation. Two Creo windows are open, the Base Model version with a renamed filename to include the suffix: _CMO, and another window with no revision that is the active window. This active window has the Menu Manager open with the following commands available: Create, Copy From, Retrieve, List, Import, Export, Retrieve Rep, Quit.

How to Rework from the Audit step in the CN and Re trigger the Change Task

I am working on a workflow and a key requirement is that if a user in the Audit Task in the Change Notice decides to choose "rework" I need the workflow to re trigger the change task and run through the assignee and reviewer tasks again.

 

I can't figure out how to get back into the Change Task.  Does anyone know how to do this?
