Thanks to IT, our newest servers are on a new domain (oh, goody!). Any tips/instructions folks have for cloning Windchill to a new domain? We are running Windchill 9.1 M060 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

While running the Windchill ProductPoint Migrator to migrat from WPP 1.1 to WC PDMLink 10.1. M020.

Setting "Autoselect Folder" as default location for new documents
Hi All,
I have created a new soft type of a document which is for requests of various types. I have set up an OIR so that it is created in a certain folder. The only problem is the user has to select the "Autoselect Folder" option under the location when they are creating a document of this type. Is there any way to make it so that they do not have the option and it is automatically created in the folder I have specified?

We need a report of the current pubblications. The best option would be an export of the Job Monitor table:
As the export in a file is not a provided function, waiting this function will be added, I ask if someone can help me to write a query that join the QUEUEENTRY table to obtain the same info of the Job Monitor.
I haven't idea on the other table and which are the keys to join tables.

Best practice for getting a list of Windchill users?
So evidently, it is not out of the box functionality to be able to see a list of all the Windchill users? I am not sure how you can manage users without seeing who has an account on your system....
So what is the best practice to get a list or report or ??? to see all the users of a Windchill system?
Ideally, I would like to have first and last name, userid, email, etc...

Adding an Attribute for Change Request
Open the Change Request list of attributes in the Type and Attribute Managemnt utility, then Action Edit and select the star to add a new attribute.
When I enter the information, then Finish, I get this error message:
ATTENTION:
An attribute of type "java.lang.String" cannot be created because no database colums of that type are available. Contact your system administrator to execute the AddColumns utility which will allocate more columns.
Can soeone give me more details on running the AddColumns utility, what inputs are needed, where it is located, how to run it, etc?

I'm trying to figure out if 10.1 M030 can create thumbnails and minis for images docs on checkin
Using 10.1 M030. Want to have thumbnails and minis automatically created for documents containing photo images. Currently we have to manually create new representations using the image file as local file source.
10.2 M020 does it automatically on checkin. Can this be enabled for 10.1 M030? If not, does it show up with M040 or M050?

Is there still a Product Structure Explorer in Windchill 10.2
Hi,
I would like t know if there is still a way to create a bom manually by using a Product Structure Explorer in Windchill version 10.2 ?
Is there a way to feed this with info comming from Excel ? This I am asking because we will abandon the OSD drafting and for the rarely new 2D drawings we would create the bom manually.

Purge items in Workspace
More of a general knowledge question than really an issue. Just wondering what would happen if I set my Purge Job to remove items in a workspace?
We are using Windchill 10.0 M030 and I have a purge job set up to remove all but last 3 iterations of EPM Documents. When looking through logs I see "Conflict Message : Cannot delete Assembly - 115601.asm, A.38 because it is in following workspace(s)..." all over the place. There are likely a few hundred of these in each log file. Now when creating the Purge job you can choose to Override "Downloaded to a workspace" and still purge it, but... my question is what happens to that part in the Workspace then?
If 106.asm A.32 uses 105.prt A39., but someone still has 105.prt A.34 sitting in the workspace and the purge removes it, would 105.prt A.39 be downloaded to the workspace the next time they try and open 106.asm, or would it create 105.prt as a "New" part because it can't be located in the workspace?
Really hard to type out the scenario I am thinking about, but hopefully someone follows along... if not then just ask and I will try and explain it a little better.

"View as SQL" disabled under query builder

I need to generate SQL statements for some existing QML's. For some of QML reports "View as SQL" option is disabled. "View as SQL" is working for OOTB QML files and few custom QML's where limited # of tables used in join.
Is there any constraint on query size to generat SQL statements?

Server not available message... but everything is working.
Hi there. I'm using the embedded browser in Creo to work with Windchill and am getting some odd behavior. Every time I start Creo, when the browser goes to the home page (Windchill), I get a pop up message that says "The server xxxxx is currently not available. Check your connection to the server or contact an administrator." The xxxxx being our Windchill server. But, the odd thing is that, after I click okay, everything seems to be functioning just fine. I'm not sure if the error is coming from the browser or from Creo itself, but they both seem to be connected. Has anyone else come across this? Any ideas what might be going on? Thanks

Custom Scheduled Publish
Curious if there are any publishing gurus out there? I need to create a custom publish job to republish all latest EPM documents at ‘Released’ state, preferably by subfolder instead of entire context. I don’t begin to know how to create the custom the custom Java classes discussed in the customization guide. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
